Background
Fresh 92.7 is a community-run station in Adelaide, South Australia, built around dance and pop music. No media group owns it: it is run by a not-for-profit association, Fresh Broadcasters Incorporated, and volunteers do much of the work.
It started in 1998 on a temporary community licence, at first sharing a frequency with an Italian-language station before settling on 92.7 FM. In August 2002 the broadcasting regulator of the day gave it a full community licence for Adelaide. One regular fixture is The Top 92, an annual countdown of songs chosen by listeners, held each January.
