Background

The Breeze is a New Zealand easy listening and adult contemporary network, and this is its Auckland station on 93.4 FM. The name goes back to 1993, when separate local stations in Auckland, Waikato and Wellington were renamed The Breeze, but today's network took shape from 2003, starting with a Waikato relaunch. The Auckland station launched on 12 June 2006 on 93.4 FM, a frequency that Solid Gold FM had used until May of that year.

The Breeze plays in about 25 New Zealand markets with a mix of local and network programs. It is owned by MediaWorks, and in August 2026 MediaWorks' radio business was announced as sold to Australia's Sports Entertainment Group. It also ran a TV channel, The Breeze TV, from March 2020 until December 2022, and its biggest audience, 671,000 listeners, came in 2021.
